Solar power metrics and nuclear power links

First of all, some belated energy metrics: In April 2011, the photovoltaic solar cell array on our roof yielded 1957 kilowatt hours. This is about en par for the month, though the solar energy yields for April vary particularly strongly, probably because April is a month with very unpredictable weather.

And now some nuclear power links:

The nuclear power ethics commission of the German parliament has proposed 2021 as the final shutdown date for Germany’s remaining nuclear reactor.

And just to remember why a nuclear shutdown is important, here is a sobering article on the effects of nuclear radiation on children and how the true extent of the damage done in Chernobyl has been suppressed for twenty-five years now.
